Growing Guide

1. Soil Preparation: Use well-draining, sandy-loam soil enriched with compost or well-rotted organic manure. A pH range of 6.0–6.8 works best.
2. Sowing: Soak seeds in water for 12–24 hours before sowing to improve germination. Sow at a depth of 2–3 cm, in small mounds if possible.
3. Spacing: Maintain 1.2–1.8 meters spacing between plants, as watermelon vines sprawl extensively across the ground.
4. Watering: Water every 2–3 days, keeping soil consistently moist during vine growth and flowering, then reduce watering slightly as fruits ripen to boost sweetness.
5. Sunlight: Requires at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for strong growth and good fruit sweetness.
6. Pollination: Encourage pollinator activity (bees) during flowering, as good pollination is essential for full, well-shaped fruits.
7. Fertilizing: Apply organic compost or balanced fertilizer every 2–3 weeks, especially once flowering and fruiting begins.
8. Pest Management: This hybrid shows improved natural resistance to common pests, but still monitor for fruit flies and aphids; use neem oil spray if needed.
9. Harvesting: Ready to harvest in 80–90 days. A ripe watermelon typically sounds hollow when tapped, and the underside spot turns from white to pale yellow.
10. Hybrid Seed Tip: As an F1 hybrid, seeds saved from harvested fruits will not grow true to type — purchase fresh seeds each season for consistent results.
