Growing Guide

1. Soil Preparation: Use well-draining, fertile soil enriched with compost or well-rotted organic manure. A pH range of 6.0–6.8 works best.
2. Sowing: Sow seeds directly into soil at a depth of 3–4 cm. Corn does not transplant well, so always direct sow.
3. Spacing: Plant in blocks of at least 4 rows (rather than one or two long rows), with 25–30 cm between plants and 60–75 cm between rows, as corn relies on wind pollination.
4. Watering: Water every 2–3 days, keeping soil consistently moist, especially critical during tasseling, silking, and cob filling stages.
5. Sunlight: Requires at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for strong stalk growth and good cob development.
6. Pollination: Block planting (rather than single rows) significantly improves pollination, leading to fuller, more evenly filled cobs.
7. Fertilizing: Apply organic compost or nitrogen-rich fertilizer at planting and again when plants reach knee height, to support strong stalk and cob growth.
8. Pest Management: This hybrid shows improved natural resistance to common pests, but still monitor for stem borers and fall armyworm; use neem oil spray if needed.
